Medway Core Strategy
The Core Strategy is the main strategic policy document of the LDF. It sets out the vision for the area over the next 15 years and policies intended to enable this to be realised. The diagram below shows the stages involved in the production and adoption of the document, highlighting the stage it is currently at.
The council has now reached the Submission Draft stage of the Core Strategy. The draft plan was submitted to the Planning Inspectorate on Tuesday, 7 February 2012. This was a month in advance of the date programmed in the Local Development Scheme. Laura Graham, BSc, MA, MRTPI, has been appointed to conduct the examination to determine if the draft Core Strategy is sound. The council will provide updates on the timetable and process as further information is available from the Inspector.
